A+ Garden Centre

Description

The A+ Garden Centre is a community-supported and student-operated garden center located at Parkside High School in Salisbury, Maryland. The A+ Garden Centre is the largest high school garden center enterprise in United States. The Parkside Horticulture students grow and promote over 150,000 plants each year. The A+ Garden Centre is home to the All-America Selections Display Garden where students grow, evaluate and promote new varieties of ornamental and vegetable crops for industry. Students conduct research and apply the latest horticultural practices for crop health and vigor. Horticulture students maintain the campus apiary and sell honey at the A+ Garden Centre. The A+ Garden Centre and the Parkside Horticulture program are supported by Salisbury University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Maryland Extension, Master Gardeners, Lower Eastern Shore Beekeepers, and local farmers and residents.
